- What is Walgreens mobile messaging?
Walgreens mobile messaging is a service for registered customers to receive text alerts* delivered to a mobile device. These messages include Pharmacy Alerts, which will send you prescription refill notifications, and Special Offers, which offers exclusive deals, coupons and more.
NOTE: Pharmacy Alerts and Special Offers are separate subscriptions. You can sign up for one, both, or neither.
*Standard text message and data rates from your carrier or plan may apply. Walgreens does not charge a fee for this service.
- How do I sign up for mobile messaging?
New customers can sign-up for Walgreens Mobile Messaging during their registration process. Follow Text Alerts to set up this service. To sign up for Prescription Text Alerts, click the blue Edit Text Message Preferences link in the left column. To sign up for Special Offers texts, click the blue Sign Up Now link in the right column.
- How do I stop Walgreens mobile messaging from coming to my cell phone?
To opt out at any time, text the word STOP to 21525.
- What are the participating carriers for the Walgreens Mobile program?
Participating carriers include the following: Alltel, AT&T, Boost, Cellular One, Cellular South, Cincinnati Bell, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless, Virgin Mobile, Bluegrass, Centennial Wireless, ECIT, EKN, Immix, Inland Cellular, Illinois Valley Cellular, Revol and West Central Wireless.
- I am having trouble receiving messages. How can I get help?
You must respond to the Rx Alerts welcome text message within 48 hours to complete the sign up process and verify that you have signed up for the program. If you have completed this step and are still unable to receive messages from a store that is equipped with messaging services, contact your local store. If related to Walgreens.com Online Retail Pharmacy, please contact Customer Service toll-free, at 1-877-250-5823. If related to Walgreens Mail Service, please contact Mail Service toll-free, at 1-800-345-1985.
- How can I order prescriptions refills from my cell phone?
To refill prescriptions from your phone:
- Go to m.walgreens.com on your phone's mobile browser.
- Select the Pharmacy tab.
- Choose either the Refill Prescriptions (for delivery or pickup) or Express Refills (for store pickup only) button to view prescriptions that are available for refill.
NOTE: If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to enter your username and password.
- Can I shop Walgreens and check out with my mobile device?
Yes! You can shop, check out, and ship products to your home with all of our mobile applications as well as our mobile optimized site.
- I don't have a Walgreens photo or pharmacy account. Can I create an account from my mobile device?
Absolutely. You can easily sign up for a photo and/or pharmacy account with all of our mobile apps.
- How can I reset my mobile password?
Follow Reset Password. This will reset the password for all your Walgreens services.
Prescription Text Notifications
- How can I get more information about my prescription I received a text notification about?
If you have any questions about a prescription you received a text notification about, please call the number included in your text notification to contact your pharmacy where the prescription was filled.
- I want to sign up for prescriptions text alerts. What do I do?
To sign up for prescription text alerts:
- Follow the link Your Account to go to your Account Home page.
- Hover over the Settings tab and select Communication Preferences from the dropdown menu. You will be directed to the Manage Communication Preferences page.
- In the box labeled Text Message Alerts, you'll see the question "Do you want to receive Pharmacy Prescription Ready Alerts?" Select Yes.
NOTE: If you have not saved a cell phone number in your Personal Information, click Add a number in the bottom left corner of the Text Message Alerts box. - Click Save Changes. You will see a confirmation message that you've successfully updated your text message preferences.
NOTE: If you have not made any changes, the Save Changes button will not be clickable.
- What are the benefits of 90 day refills?
You'll save time by making fewer trips to the pharmacy. Plus, you'll potentially save on co-pays depending on your insurance.
- Which medications are eligible for 90 day refills?
Most maintenance medications are eligible - excluding controlled substance prescriptions. If you have questions about prescription eligibility, please contact your local pharmacy.
- How much will my 90 day refill prescriptions cost?
There is a possibility that paying for your prescription once every 90 days will help save on co-pays. The cost of your prescription refill depends on your insurance policy. You'll need to contact your local pharmacy for your co-pay amount once your eligible prescriptions are refilled.
- When will my 90 day refill be available?
Orders received today should be ready by noon tomorrow. You'll receive a text message when your order is ready. We'll contact you if there are any delays.
- Can I just choose specific medications for 90 day refills?
If you want to pick specific medications for 90 day refills, please contact your local pharmacist. Otherwise, if you have received a text message with the option to refill your prescriptions for 90 days, and you respond with the RX90 keyword, those prescriptions that are due for refill will be requested for a 90 day fill.
- Will you contact my doctor regarding my 90 day refill request?
We may need to contact your doctor depending on the state you live in (State Regulations) and/or your insurance plan.
- Do I have to get 90 day refills through the mail service?
No, you don't have to use mail service. If you choose 90 day fills, you can pick up your prescriptions at your local pharmacy.
- How do I become a Walgreens Facebook fan?
Follow Your Account to become a Walgreens fan.
- Can I print my Facebook photos to my local Walgreens?
Yes, when you use the Walgreens printing application on Facebook. The Walgreens Photo Printing Application allows Facebook users to print 4x6 prints as well as 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 collage prints from Facebook photo albums. - Does Walgreens have an iPhone application?
Yes. The robust functionality of the free Walgreens iPhone App allows users to manage pharmacy accounts, upload and order photos, browse the weekly ad, create a shopping list, locate a Walgreens store via the GPS-enabled store locator, receive push notifications when prescriptions are ready, and even order prescription refills by scanning a barcode with your iPhone. The app is also compatible with iPod Touch devices.
